55/2023 - To receive reports from County & District Councillors, if present – None present.
56/2023 - Apologies for Absence - To receive and accept apologies where valid reasons for absence have been given to the Parish Clerk prior to the meeting. – Cllrs Firth, Moulson and Pearson. RESOLVED TO ACCEPT
57/2023 - To receive declarations of interest under the Localism Act 2011 – being any pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interests and any written requests for dispensation – Cllr Widdison declared a pecuniary interest in the payment in respect of the cemetery gates.
58/2023 - To approve as a correct record the notes of following meetings of the Parish Council and to authorise the Chairman to sign the official minutes

59/2023 - Planning Applications - None received
60/2023 - CPC
The future of the committee – Thanks were given for the work that Mrs Brooke and Mrs Moulson had done for the park prior to their resignations. Cllr Widdison then went on to proposed that a working group is formed of 2 councillors from each council. It is left open to add two non council members if any come forward in the future. The working group would have no delegated responsibility. There would also be a Committee with delegated responsibility to meet if OPC and NPC cannot agree on any proposals by the Working Group. The Committee would be made up of the Chairs and 2 Councillors from each council. – Cllr Creek Seconded. RESOLVED.
Grant funding – The Clerk, Cllrs Widdison and Welch (OPC) attended a session with WLDC to discuss funding opportunities. Cllr Leah is communication with WLDC with a view to arranging a meeting with the Grants team.
Events – Autumn Fayre on 10th September– Christmas Craft Fayre to come in Nov\Dec
H&S Update – RoSPA report not yet available.
Additional Rubbish Bin – Cllr Elliot Proposed NPC purchase a new bin for the community park. Cllr Creek seconded. RESOLVED to accept quote for £405 from WLDC + £50 delivery.
61/2023 - Christmas Tree – Cllr Widdison proposed the installation of a Christmas tree and the associated electrical work. Cllr Widdison will obtain quotes for the electrical work. All agreed to progress the suggestion.
62/2023 - Cemetery update – An additional inscription has been made to a headstone in the cemetery without permission. This has been identified and corrective action taken.
Cllr Elliot has suggested sorting out the damage to the shed in the cemetery. Clerk will obtain quotes for new guttering. A Member of the public has offered some replacement slate tiles.
63/2023 - Properties of concern
Derelict property on Front Street – The property has been made safe with the addition of suitable fencing to keep trespassers out.
Telephone Exchange - A report has been made to BT about fly-tipping around the exchange.
64/2023 - Highways Update – A speeding survey was carried out on Front Street which indicated an average speed of 22.2mph. Suggestion to request for volunteers who would be interested in taking part in a Community Speed watch campaign as while the average is within limits there are still concerns that this doesn’t reflect top speeds.
