Meeting of the Parish to be held on 17 April 2023 at the Bottle and Glass.

17 April 2023

7pm The Bottle and Glass, Normanby by Spital

The chairmen of Normanby by Spital and Owmby by Spital Parish Councils would like to invite you to a Joint Annual Parish Meeting. As two villages in close proximity with many shared interests we are very much a Joint Community but we wish to remain as two very separate parishes.

All resident and voluntary organisations from both villages are invited to attend. Reports from organisations are welcome.

The Annual Parish Meeting is not a council meeting. The Parish Council has to organise it, but it is a meeting for residents to hear what has been going on in the parishes over the last year and to ask questions of any of the groups present.

Further information can be obtained by contacting your parish clerk.

The intention at this meeting is to give everyone a chance to speak but questions emailed ahead to the clerk will be given priority.

All Parish and Town councils throughout England are required by law to hold an Annual Parish Meeting, which must take place between 1st March and the 1st June.

Purpose of the Annual Parish Meeting

The purpose of the meeting is for the Parish Council to explain what it has been doing over the last year and enables electors to have their say on anything they consider to be of importance to the people of the Parish

Who can attend the meeting?

The Annual Parish Meeting is a meeting of all the local government electors of the Parish. It is NOT a meeting of the Parish Council. Anyone may attend.

As the villages of Owmby and Normanby by Spital are closely linked and have shared interests it is considered appropriate to have a Joint meeting.
