There is currently a vacant seat on Normanby By Spital Parish Council.

We want to find an active, enthusiastic, committed person to fill this vacancy and become part of the team.

What do parish councils do? As elected representatives of the community, the council seeks to make life enjoyable for the people of Normanby By Spital. The Parish Council is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of various facilities, roads and pathways in the village to ensure the safety of those using them and to keep Normanby By Spital looking beautiful.

What’s the role of a councillor? We have 7 seats on the council, and members are supported by a part time Clerk. The council meets approximately 4 times a year. to consider items of business and make decisions for action. Many councillors are also involved in other ways on a voluntary basis in their community. Whilst parish councillors are volunteers they may claim expenses as necessary and full training is available.

Could you be a councillor? We are seeking an active and committed applicant; councillors need to be able to spend a few hours per month on parish council activities including meetings and getting involved with new projects around the village. Councillors also need to be IT literate and have facilities to access emails and documents sent via the internet. We currently have an energetic and forward thinking team on our parish council - please consider joining us and making a real difference to your community.
